She's Innocent
02:46
|
|||
He’s crippled by his own affection
Caring about her complexion
Scared witless of his own reflection
Those toxic words taught him a lesson
He’ll gladly leave her
But she’s innocent
She’s innocently trying to get by
She’s innocent
She’s searching deeply for his affection
All she can think of is her complexion
Never looked in the mirror it’s a reflection
Of herself, victim of this world
It’s all in her head
He’ll gladly leave her
But she’s innocent
She’s innocently trying to get by
She’s innocent
Everybody needs a bit of affection
Hard to be care free on reflection
Magazines give a false sense of complexion
Suddenly we have to seek perfection
But she’s innocent
She’s innocent
She’s innocent
She’s innocent

First is Too Late
02:42
|
|||
Falling into bed grief tied around my neck
Blue moon rising from the horizon, it brought us light
I might disappear into the ether of thought
Clouded by a vision we spoke of their loss
The first is too late
For your apologies
Your ruined our ambitions and trampled all their tuition
Like a child in the sweet shop
He wanted the lot
Young and defined yet
We’ve seen better times, better times
A life fulfilled with distractions taking passion
Listlessly insisting on a disaster
Trapped in the new world we call home
He played his hand
The first is too late
For your apologies
Your ruined our ambitions and trampled all their tuition
Like a child in the sweet shop
He wanted the lot
Young and defined yet
We’ve seen better times, better times
The first is too late
The first is too late
A fistful of collars making dollars
The first is too late
Spare me another
As we trail to the end
The bitter end

Disappearing Act
02:19
|
|||
He had a vision of a life of greed
But that oak dresser’s getting old
His footing weakened when he spoke
There’s solitude at the end
When he awoke, he found
The nightmares never stopped
Time passing on his clock
Mind faded like a disappearing act
Like a disappearing act
Door’s shut, closing time
All his young were moving on
The woman he once loved had gone
The nightmares never stopped
Time passing on his clock
Mind faded like a disappearing act
Like a disappearing act his mind had faded
Mind faded like a disappearing act
Like a disappearing act
No longer can grab the morning paper
Savouring the taste of yesterday
The nightmares never stopped
Time passing on his clock
Mind faded like a disappearing act
Like a disappearing act his mind had faded
Mind faded like a disappearing act
Like a disappearing act

White Czar
04:32
|
|||
The White Tsar in all his glory
Petrified of a news story
The Nihilists are in their waking
Vera Rose knowing its all for the taking
From Russia with a loving smile
While a royal man is standing trial
They are caught when the pigs rush in
But that same royal has something up his sleeve
The note from yours truly put her out of her misery
As her brother walked to Siberia’s symmetry
He frees the people from the white paranoia
Whoever knew this would be a joyous disaster
The minister has a vengeful awakening
And joins the Nihilists in their second taking
The plot thickens as they take a bow
And they point to the girl to take the new king out
The violence
From his highness
And they’re so silent
As the mask reveals the heir to the White Tsar
In his royal throne
Says he plans to overthrow
The injustice in Russian borders
Indoctrination for their patience
He asked for his Queen
In the quest to end Russian tyranny
Has gone ahead and reached the finale
The spell on her fragile mind
Stayed out with her revelry
Can she put her heart before her cult
And break the one unspoken rule
Not to love or be loved
The White Tsar has had his glory
He’s just another news story
The Nihilists have had their making
Vera took the ultimate taking
From Russia with a grieving smile
Was is it all really worth the while
The White Tsar in all his glory
Petrified of a news story

By Her Teeth
04:21
|
|||
From the snakepit she raised her arms, to caress her body a hundred times
Turned away from a stranger's eye, to meet the gaze of a man in his prime
Blonde blossomed through those venomous snakes
When her eyes met his, her thought stream realigned
Lips entwine, we hope she's fine
He thinks it’s time, he thinks it’s time
In some unnatural way he’ll make her stay by his side, to surely realise his worth
Daylight takes away from the night / She’s kite-like but spoken for
Won’t she show him the door? And blissfully explore
A world from the wealth of that man
Where in the world did he get that knife? The haunting world of this girl’s nightlife
She’s fearing the unknown, scared to phone home again
His power hungry rise lead to her demise
We’ll have to see another day without her face
In some unnatural way he’ll make her stay by his side, to surely realise his worth
Daylight takes away from the night / She’s kite-like but spoken for
Won’t she show him the door? And blissfully explore
A world from the wealth of that man
This town is turning on it’s head, “I’m trapped in four walls” is what she said
All the mothers weep, they knew her by her teeth
All the mothers weep, they knew her by her teeth
Hatred in the ones we truly trust, there’s hatred in the ones we truly trust
All the mothers weep, they knew her by her teeth
All the mothers weep, they knew her by her teeth

The Sheets
03:37
|
|||
The sheets smelt of her name
As I lay in awe of her memory
Of a girl so beautiful and wise
She couldn't hurt a fly, God knows why
But she wouldn't have to try, to hurt my eye
She won't sing a lullaby this time
I'm walking down
I'm walking down
Walking down an unlit street
Oh God! Oh no!
Who's that deadbeat?
I think of her as a decaying memory
laid dead on a street of misfortune
Yet her smile is worth a dying embrace
Yeah when she smiles just for the while
The children sing in style and dial her up
Can they sing a lullaby like mine?
I'm walking down
I'm walking down
Walking down an unlit street
Oh God! Oh no!
Who's that deadbeat?
Can’t she live without that man?
I don't think she'll understand
I’m pining for her now
Sometimes I cry out
Sometimes I hear her words of dissatisfaction comfort me
Terror lifted me to shape
Must have slept an endless day
I dreamt of her in the final throw
She'll never sing a lullaby tonight
I'm walking down
I'm walking down
Walking down an unlit street
Oh God! Oh no!
Who's that deadbeat?
Can’t she live without that man?
I don't think she'll understand
I’m pining for her now
Sometimes I cry out
Sometimes I hear her words of dissatisfaction comfort me
The sheets smelt of her name
As I lay dead upon the street

Another Day at The Zoo
03:39
|
|||
Xenophobia in our train stations; bent coppers; tree huggers, hung for their opinion
Dancing banned for the lower classes; spice in the town hall
Sexual devastation in our parliament; the working man with the fear of the iron hand
Expensive cheap cocaine for our businessmen, marking lines across our borders
Is this what the world is coming to?
Doomed lovers dance with the devil; nurses surviving at the foodbank
Politicians with large homes and private parties, wishing they weren’t so alone
British bombs dropped on minors, but that’s not on Love Island
This bulldog’s on a chain and Uncle Sam’s smiling
Is this what the world is coming to?
Walking and talking and fucking destroying
Everything, anything, another day at the zoo
I haven’t witnessed poverty, but I’ve seen what a broke man can be
I’ve witnessed white-privileged opinion and it’s posted all over social media’s delirium
We marvel at our expansive oceans, but I’ve been to the bottom and it’s filled with plastic
My friend said she was scared to look different to me
As she held me close and whispered that, “he touched me again”
Is this what the world is coming to?
Walking and talking and fucking destroying
Everything, anything, something for nothing
Walking and talking and fucking destroying
Everything, anything, another day at the zoo
Girls forced to dance upon tables, as the creepy eye
Of this try-hard, waste of breath, nudges me,
Asking if he “can only look”; how an STD-ridden prostitute
Only charged him two fifty for things I wouldn’t even understand
Or dream of, baby, this is reality; she earns her living, he pays his way
Is his life worth living? Did she not think to stay?
The government wants us dead or if not to work every single day
Until we can no longer stand under the greed of our forefathers
This is what the world is coming to
